Hanzell's 2006 Chardonnay was aged in a combination of oak and tanks, giving the vintage excellent balance between ripe fruit, nice acidity and elegant mouthfeel. White peach and citrus aromas translate well onto the palate, where they are joined by soft mineral and smoke elements that linger into a long, round and smooth finish. A bit fuller than past vintages, this wine should pair well with rich fish, seafood and poultry dishes.

Fresh, pale yellow. Pear, lichee, minerals, honey and vanilla on the nose. Dense and firmly built, with serious lemony acidity and stony minerality keeping this young wine's tactile kernel of pear and citrus fruit under wraps today. This rather brooding, no-malo chardonnay will need time to unwind. Finishes chewy and brisk, with an intriguing undertone of honey, earth and vanillin oak.
