Winemaker Notes
The grapes for our Barbera come from our historic estate vineyard in the Sonoma Valley. The Barbera block was planted in 1997 and the vines have come into full maturity in recent years` producing the grapes capable of making this distinctive and vibrant wine. The small amount of Syrah included in the 2007 blend provide added depth and tannin structure while respecting the varietal characteristics of the Barbera.
Food Pairing
Barberas natural acidity and full body makes it an ideal accompaniment to strongly flavored foods such as roasted red peppers` sausage and salami` wild mushrooms or aged sharp cheeses.
