Here is a little info about the producer and the beautiful region it comes from - Italy's Piedmont:

In Italy's northwest corner but removed from snow-capped Mont Blanc in Valle d'Aosta and the sparkling sea of Liguria, Piedmont's rolling hills bring to mind Barolo and Barbaresco, but the region also produces some outstanding whites. The Gagliardo winemaking family goes back six generations in the area. Gianni Gagliardo has been nominated to the Oscar del Vino 2010 for the prestigious category “Best Winery”.

For centuries the Favorita grape has conquered the hearts of Roero farmers for centuries, becoming the “Favorite Grape”, hence the name Favorita. Now with DNA testing, the grape is matched to the Vermentino variety popular in Liguria and Sardenia. The name 'Fallegro' plays on the Italian word 'Allegro' for pleasant. The mask on the bottles is to show that everyone wears one but when you share a bottle of wine with friends your mask will slip.....and that's a good thing.

Bursting with fresh aromas and lively flavors of pear and yellow apples with a delightful citrus-floral finish. Half way between still and sparkling, this lovely, crisp wine has just a bit of 'frizzante' adds just a tingle of effervescence that dances on the tongue. Reminiscent of springtime with every sip. Pure pleasure.
